Reach Fair 2020

In 1201 King John granted a charter for the holding of a fair in Reach and it has taken place ever since, year by year, through the good times and the not so good times.

It was originally held on Rogation Monday but has since been changed to the early May Bank Holiday. However, due to the government changing the date of this 2020 Bank Holiday, Reach Fair 2020 will be held on Sunday 10th May - starting at midday and finishing at 5.00pm.

According to original custom, it will be opened by the Mayor of Cambridge accompanied by the Aldermen in full regalia and penny coins will be thrown to visitors in the crowd.

If you want to know more about the history of Reach and the Fair please have a look through our Reach Village website History pages.
